Iconography requirements
15.1 Preferred icon system
Use lucide-svelte for generic UI iconography.
This keeps extensions visually aligned with the host app.
15.2 Shared icon patterns
Relevant host icon patterns include:
Use SidebarGradientIcon for sidebar and title-style gradient icon treatment when matching host patterns.
Extension authors choose the launchpad icon through the manifest icon field. Prefer a supported Lucide name for a product concept and use a packaged SVG, PNG, JPG, or JPEG only for brand identity or a domain-specific visual. See the manifest icon contract.
15.3 Accessibility rules for icons
- decorative icons must be hidden from assistive technology or placed in a decorative context
- icon-only buttons must provide
aria-label - icons must not be the only carrier of critical meaning
15.4 Size guidance
Prefer a small shared scale unless a component pattern already defines the size:
- 14px for compact inline/status icons
- 16px for standard actions
- 18px for common section/header icons
- 20px to 24px for emphasis, summary, or hero-style icons
15.5 Custom SVG policy
Custom SVGs are allowed for:
- brand identity
- model/provider/resource logos
- domain-specific visuals not well represented by Lucide
Custom SVGs are not preferred for generic actions like close, save, delete, refresh, open, search, or settings.
